Warehouse Bin Utilization Report
Storage density and capacity analytics mapping occupied vs available bin locations, pick-face efficiency, volume utilization, and warehouse zoning.
Reviewed on 2026-10-07
Choose the warehouse area#
You need access to bin locations and the warehouse you want to inspect.
Find occupied bins#
- 1Open Reports and select Bin Utilization.
- 2Choose a warehouse in Select warehouse, then click Search.
- 3Find a crowded or unexpectedly empty bin and read its path and recorded item quantities.
- 4Walk to that bin and compare the shelf label and a sample count with the report. Note any item stored in another location.
- 5Open the stock detail for an item that appears in the wrong bin, then trace its latest receipt or relocation before correcting the location.
A recorded bin balance is only useful if the goods are actually there. Relocations should be recorded when items move.
Compare with shelves#
The report reports occupied-bin/item measures; it does not infer volumetric capacity from a bin count alone.
WARNING: Do not assign incoming goods to an apparently empty bin without checking active status and physical capacity.
Before moving goods#
Ask warehouse staff to verify the physical bin before relocating or replenishing stock.
Use a supported relocation or count correction after confirming the physical position.
