Narrow the movement list#
Have the item or transaction you want to trace ready.
Trace stock in and out#
- 1Open Reports and select Stock Movements.
- 2Use Filter by date, then click Search. Type a product or reference in the search box to narrow the list.
- 3Compare the item, warehouse, quantity, type, and date. Use Stock Movements to investigate an unexpected transaction.
- 4Open the movement's source document and compare its product, quantity, date, and location.
- 5Check the immediately preceding and following movements if the balance changed more than once.
A movement's type tells you why stock changed; a location and source reference tell you where to investigate.
Check the source#
Receipt, sale, adjustment, transfer, relocation, return and expired write-off are distinct movement types.
WARNING: Do not use a movement list alone as physical count or valuation approval.
Before adjusting#
If a movement looks wrong, open its receipt, sale, transfer, or adjustment record before changing stock.
Correct the source transaction through its supported process. An unrelated adjustment can conceal the original problem.
