Find transfers#

You need access to Reports and stock transfers. Have the transfer number ready if you are tracing one movement.

Track goods in transit#

  1. 1
Open Reports and select Stock Transfers.
  2. 2
Use Filter by date, then click Search. Search for a transfer number if you need to narrow the list.
  3. 3
Compare the transfer number, source, destination, quantity, and status; then open that transfer from the stock transfer list if you need its history.
  4. 4
Open the transfer from the stock transfer list and check its source warehouse, destination warehouse, and current status.
  5. 5
Compare the shipped quantity with the destination receipt or cancellation record.

In-transit goods have left the source but have not yet become available at the destination. A pending transfer may only reserve source stock.

Check destination receipt#

A cancelled in-transit transfer can return stock to source; do not classify every cancellation as reservation release.

WARNING: Reconcile goods physically in transit before interpreting location balances.

Before reconciling#

Contact both warehouses to confirm custody before treating in-transit stock as received.

If the destination did not receive the goods, investigate the physical shipment before recording a receipt or cancellation.
