Choose the tax period#

Have the tax period and currency you want to review ready.

Review input tax#

  1. 1
Open Reports and select Purchase Tax.
  2. 2
Use Filter by date and All Currencies, then click Search.
  3. 3
Compare grouped tax and line counts with posted supplier bills.
  4. 4
Open a supplier bill behind an unusual tax group or amount and review its tax treatment.
  5. 5
Compare credits and adjustments for the same supplier before finalizing the workpaper.

An unposted bill is not included with posted purchase tax. A bill dated outside the period belongs to a different result.

Tie tax to bills#

Tax on an ordered or received item may differ from tax recorded on the posted bill; use the matching document dates.

WARNING: Do not treat this as a statutory return without checking local tax rules and source documents.

Before filing#

Finance should compare the tax total with posted bills and the relevant tax account for the same period.

Resolve document errors through the bill or credit process before using the total for filing.
