Review tax collected#

  1. 1
Open Reports and select Sales Tax.
  2. 2
Use Filter by date and All Currencies, then click Search.
  3. 3
Compare grouped tax and line counts with posted sales documents.
  4. 4
Open an invoice or credit note behind an unusual grouped tax amount.
  5. 5
Compare the tax total with the relevant ledger account at the same cutoff.

A draft invoice has not posted tax. A credit may reduce tax in a later period depending on its posting date.

Check posted invoices#

A report is accounting data, not a jurisdiction-specific filing form. Match dates and taxable basis before using it externally.

WARNING: Use Export CSV if you need a file. Check its dates, currency, and totals against posted invoices before filing.

Before filing#

Finance should compare the tax total with posted invoices and the relevant tax account for the same period.

Correct the source document through the supported credit or correction process before filing.
