Choose a business question#

Finance and operations users with the “View reports and insights” permission can open Reports. Some reports also require a plan feature: financial reports, sales by customer, supplier performance, bin utilization or stock transfers.

Find the right report#

  1. 1
Open Reports in the correct organization and choose the family for the work at hand: financial, inventory, sales, purchasing, or warehouse.
  2. 2
Choose the report that matches your question. For a physical pick, start with stock on hand; for a replenishment decision, use low stock and check incoming orders.
  3. 3
Set the date range and currency where the report offers them. Choose a warehouse, customer, or supplier only where that report shows the filter. Select Search to refresh the result.
  4. 4
Open an unusual line or its source record. Confirm whether it is a draft, posted transaction, reservation, shipment, or physical stock movement before comparing it with another measure.
  5. 5
For a period close, compare the trial balance, general ledger, and inventory valuation at the same cutoff. Investigate differences through their source documents.
  6. 6
If Export CSV is available, review the filtered screen first, then export and keep the date and scope with the downloaded file.

Keep filters aligned#

The reports workspace offers different views of the same activity. Keep dates and currency aligned when comparing them, and remember that a warehouse scope may be available on one report but not another. A report total should be interpreted with its filters, status rules, and source records.

WARNING: Use Export CSV for a downloadable report. Review its dates and totals before sharing it.

Before exporting#

If two reports disagree, write down the exact filters and trace one sample transaction from each. Check for a draft document, a later posting date, a different warehouse, or a currency selection before asking Finance to create a correction.
