Four-way inventory balance monitoring: Quantity on Hand, Reserved Quantity, Available Quantity, and Incoming On-Order with reorder points and low-stock alerts.

Select the right warehouse and bin#

Choose the variant, warehouse and optional bin. Compare the same location scope when reviewing quantities.

Read the quantities you can use#

  1. 1
Open the stock view for the product variant and select the warehouse and, if relevant, bin.
  2. 2
Compare On hand with Reserved. Available is On hand minus Reserved at that location.
  3. 3
Open reservations on the product when Reserved seems higher than the orders your team expects.
  4. 4
Check the chosen lot's expiry and status or the selected serial's status before quoting the Available figure.
  5. 5
Check lot expiry and serial status before promising the remaining units to an order.

Availability is local to the chosen scope. Units across town cannot satisfy a pick in this warehouse until they are transferred.

Check stock committed elsewhere#

A pending transfer reserves source stock; shipping removes it from the source and receiving adds it at the destination. In-transit quantity is not available in the destination warehouse.

WARNING: Do not ship from a warehouse or bin with too few available units just because the company has stock elsewhere.

If an order has too little stock#

Check another eligible bin only if the physical goods are there; otherwise complete the pending receipt or transfer first.

If a shelf has units but Available is zero, investigate reservations and tracking restrictions before entering an adjustment.
