Find the item and date range#

You need access to stock movements or the relevant report. Use the search and filters shown on the Stock Movements screen to find the item or transaction you need.

Trace a stock movement#

  1. 1
Open Movements & Relocations, then use the available search and filters to find the variant, warehouse, date, or source document.
  2. 2
Open the movement and check whether it is a receipt, sale, adjustment, transfer, relocation, return, or expiry write-off.
  3. 3
Compare its quantity, location, date, and source reference with the physical or document record.
  4. 4
Open the source receipt, shipment, transfer, or adjustment for an unexpected line.
  5. 5
Compare the movement's quantity and date with the stock balance before and after it.

A movement explains a balance change; it does not prove the physical action was correct without source evidence.

Compare the recorded quantity#

Movement History includes receipts, sales, adjustments, transfers, moves between bins, returns, and expiry write-offs. Open the source record to see why a movement occurred.

WARNING: A movement is evidence of a recorded action, not proof the physical count or GL valuation has been independently reconciled.

If a movement seems to be missing#

Try a wider date range and confirm the product, warehouse, and source document you are tracing.

If the source is wrong, follow its correction or return process instead of entering an unrelated adjustment.

For Finance: Movement Value#

A movement shows a recorded stock action. Reconcile its value with the ledger separately; the movement alone does not prove the count or value is correct.
