Find the serial number#

Search for the serial number under the correct company and product variant. Open its detail and movement history to check location and status.

Follow its recorded journey#

  1. 1
Search for the serial number in the correct company and product.
  2. 2
Open its detail to see the current status and warehouse or bin.
  3. 3
Follow linked receipts, orders, transfers, and returns to verify how it reached that location.
  4. 4
Compare the most recent movement with the physical location or the customer's shipment record.
  5. 5
Keep the receipt, transfer, and sale references together when investigating a return or warranty claim.

A serial history is most useful when every handoff was recorded against the same number.

Confirm current custody#

You cannot change every serial status directly. Receive, ship, transfer, or return the physical unit through its supported action so quantity and history stay aligned.

WARNING: Do not edit a serial status to simulate a physical receipt, sale or return. Use the related transaction so quantity and history stay consistent.

If the history looks incomplete#

Search the exact serial number and product, then inspect linked receipts or transfers for the missing leg.

If the trail stops before the physical unit's current location, inspect any pending transfer or unconfirmed receipt.
