Intra-Warehouse Bin Relocations

Use the inventory transfer permission and select two locations in the same warehouse. Confirm variant, lot/serial and source availability.

   Open Movements & Relocations and select Relocate Stock.

   Select the source bin, destination bin, product variant, and quantity. For a serialized item, select its serial number.

   Move the physical goods, confirm the relocation, and compare both bin balances.

   Open both source and destination bin balances for the variant after the move.

   For a serialized item, search for the serial and confirm its current bin matches the shelf.

The total warehouse quantity stays the same; the location changes. A discrepancy between bin balances needs a physical check.

The source bin loses the moved units and the destination bin gains them. The total owned by the warehouse stays the same; check both bin balances after the move.

WARNING: A relocation is not an inter-warehouse transfer. Check both bins before submission so the physical and recorded locations agree.

Check available stock in the source bin and make sure both bins belong to the same warehouse.

If the source bin lacks available units, check reservations and recent movements before repeating the relocation.

A move between bins in the same warehouse changes where stock is held. It does not create a sale or a new purchase. Reconcile the two bin quantities and investigate any unexpected cost or ledger entry through the original movement rather than adding a balancing adjustment.
