Period Close Readiness & Financial Checklist

Automated period close readiness audit scanning for unposted draft documents, unreconciled bank statements, AR/AP subledger variances, and open GRNI receipts.

Check account mappings first#

You need the “View accounting settings” permission to inspect posting readiness. Period-close readiness is a separate checklist under Accounting → Periods.

Review readiness before month end#

  1. 1
Open Accounting Settings and review the base currency and required control-account mappings.
  2. 2
Run the readiness view. Resolve each missing account or incompatible configuration in the relevant settings page.
  3. 3
Open each missing mapping named by the readiness panel and select an active account of the correct type.
  4. 4
Preview a representative invoice, bill, receipt, and shipment after the mappings are saved.
  5. 5
For month end, open the specific period's close checklist. Locking and closing use different blocking checks; resolve each item shown before changing the period status.

A readiness indicator can highlight missing setup, while a transaction preview shows the actual accounts used.

What the checks tell you#

The Accounting Readiness Score shows the share of configured financial capabilities and flags checks that need attention. A full score means the displayed settings checks passed; it does not post documents or reconcile balances for you.

WARNING: Do not close a period solely because the account mapping check passes. Reconcile draft documents, bank activity and subledgers first.

When a checklist item fails#

Use the exact failing checklist item to locate the source record or setting.

If a selector is empty, return to Chart of Accounts and confirm the account type and active status.
