Confirm the bank charge or interest#

Use this only for a real statement item that has no suitable posted payment or journal candidate. Confirm the bank account and an appropriate offset account.

Record a genuine bank adjustment#

  1. 1
From the reconciliation workspace, choose the unmatched statement line and enter the adjustment details required by the form.
  2. 2
Attach or note the bank evidence for a charge, interest item, or other genuine statement-only movement.
  3. 3
Preview the bank-side and offset-account effect, then create the adjustment.
  4. 4
Confirm the new journal/candidate is matched to the statement line and the summary difference changes as expected.
  5. 5
After posting, return to the reconciliation and confirm that the statement line and adjustment now agree.

An adjustment is appropriate only after you rule out an existing payment or journal that should have been matched.

Check the matched result#

An adjustment is an accounting transaction. Its accounts and sign depend on the selected bank line and configured account, not on fixed KariVast account numbers.

WARNING: A bank fee or interest entry changes the GL. Do not create one to force a statement to balance without a real bank-side transaction.

When the adjustment is rejected#

If the adjustment is rejected, check the period, offset account and line status.

If the amount or direction is uncertain, leave the line unmatched until the bank evidence is clear.
