First Warehouse Setup

Setting up physical warehouse facilities, 4-level hierarchy (Warehouse, Zone, Shelf, Bin), branch linking, and available vs allocated inventory quantities.

Reviewed on 2026-10-07

Choose the branch and site#

Choose the branch and physical site where the first goods will arrive.

Create the warehouse and bins#

  1. 1
Open Warehouses and create the physical warehouse under the correct branch.
  2. 2
If bin locations are available, add the zones, shelves, and bins your staff will use.
  3. 3
On the first receipt, select the warehouse and bin and confirm the stock appears there.
  4. 4
Walk the physical area and compare its shelf labels with the warehouse and bin names.
  5. 5
Check a small stock entry in the new location before loading all opening stock.

A clear location structure helps pickers and counters find the same units later.

Check the first receipt location#

An empty warehouse has no stock. Goods become available only after a valid receipt or adjustment.

WARNING: Check the company and physical location before receiving. Goods recorded in the wrong warehouse require a correction.

If you cannot add a location#

Check the selected branch, warehouse-management access, and whether bin locations are included in your plan.
