Check the physical label and product#

  1. 1
Open the product to confirm whether it tracks lots, serials, or both.
  2. 2
Compare the label with the serial or lot entered on the receipt, pick, or transfer.
  3. 3
Check the serial's current status and location, plus any lot expiry or quarantine.
  4. 4
Compare the rejected number character by character with the physical label.
  5. 5
Search its history for an earlier receipt, reservation, transfer, or shipment.

Keep the unit aside until its identity and current custody are clear.

Find the serial or lot conflict#

Use the supported receiving, return, or stock-correction action to resolve the mismatch. Do not invent a replacement serial number.

WARNING: Do not create a replacement serial or lot number to bypass a duplicate or status error; reconcile physical identity first.
