Count stock before importing#
Count each warehouse and bin, then have Finance approve opening quantities and costs before importing.
Import opening quantities#
- 1Open CSV Import, choose Opening stock, and download the template.
- 2Enter the product's SKU, the warehouse, and the quantity counted. Add a bin and reserved quantity where the template calls for them.
- 3Keep the template headers unchanged. Select Validate and resolve unknown SKUs, wrong bins, or existing-stock warnings.
- 4Select Import only after the preview matches the signed count. Keep the import result with your migration records.
- 5Open the stock view for each sampled warehouse and bin. Compare the recorded quantity and product with the count sheet for that physical location.
- 6Compare total accepted quantity and value with the approved opening count. Ask Finance to review any value difference before staff start shipping from the new stock.
If a count differs, trace the source row rather than importing a second balancing row.
Reconcile each location#
This replaces an existing stock level when you choose Create or update; it does not add a new receipt. Finance should check the resulting valuation separately.
WARNING: This import cannot create opening stock for products tracked by lot, serial, or both. Use the supported opening-stock or purchase-receiving flow with the actual identities. Reconcile the physical count and value first.
