Choose the product variant#
The “View barcodes” permission allows lookup; “Create and manage barcodes” allows changes. Select an existing variant.
Add and test a barcode#
- 1Open Barcodes and choose the existing product variant.
- 2Add or generate the barcode type offered by the form, then save it.
- 3Print one test label and scan it to check that it opens the right variant.
- 4Scan a physical label into the search or entry field and confirm it resolves to the intended variant.
- 5Check a second unit from the same variant for label consistency.
If two variants share a code, correct the catalog or labels before using the scanner in receiving.
Check the saved label#
A barcode identifies a variant for lookup; it does not create stock or change SKU. Choose from the barcode types shown on the form.
WARNING: Print a test label and scan it before bulk use. Duplicate or invalid codes should be corrected before labels are applied.
If a code is rejected#
Check for a duplicate or invalid code and confirm the variant is active before printing more labels.
